Planche and Handstand are complimentary exercises. One of the most advanced calisthenics movements is flawlessly transitioning from a planche to handstand or vice-versa. But before we get there, we need to individually master each foundational calisthenics movements first.
The key to handstand is similar to planche: Increasingly challenging progressions of pick push-ups and builds the strength to hold your upper body in a vertical position, then building enough core strength lifts your lower body straight in the air. Wall assisted handstands are best way to get assimilated in that position. Simply holding that position builds strength. Another crucial point is balancing with the palm of your hands and tip of your fingers.
It’s all about getting your body to familiarize in calisthenics positions. Thus, consistency is key to mastering calisthenics. You’re not just working out at the gym or at home. You are practicing the art of calisthenics.
